Bain & Company - Internship

Bain & Company is offering an internship opportunity at their organisation for 6 months (highly likely to be extended to 12 months) starting from 2nd week of January. The nature of profile is extremely basic, it is Administrative in nature. Upon satisfactory performance the candidate will be trained in the Information Services segment.

Job Title: Assistant, Information Services

                                                                            Grade 2

Reports to: IS Manager or IS Supervisor

Dept. Director: Director, Global Information Services

Fixed Remuneration: 2 lacs p.a

Location: Mumbai

Position Summary:

The Assistant, Information Services supports the IS Manager and the IS team in their administrative tasks.

Core Responsibilities and Duties: Administrative and Research Support

o Under close supervision, supports the local IS department

o Ensures invoices are paid on time for online services, books, journals, and stationery. Involves regular liaison with suppliers and the Finance Department

o May manage subscription and journal acquisition for the department and consultants. Includes suggesting relevant material for purchase, placing orders, updating a subscriptions database and circulating journals

o Catalogues books for Information Services, plus shelving book and magazine returns as quickly as possible to make them available for other users

o Builds knowledge of  basic business sources

o Initiates and undertakes key project work when required such as organizing & updating the Information Services Portal

o Proactively seeks opportunities to broaden and deepen skill set by participating in special projects

o Provides ongoing support for basic asset-building activities including processing orders and new acquisitions, cataloging and serials check-in, end-user system updates, tracking circulation of materials from the collection and ongoing maintenance of print and other special collections.

Position Qualifications:

o Desire degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience

o Entry level position; prior experience not required

o Appropriate for an intern who is currently attending school

o Ability to work in a fast paced environment

o Fluent written and verbal communication skills in native language and English required
