Who are we?
 Uhuru (which means “freedom”) is a social media startup with its founders having diverse international experience in computer programming, design, finance and venture capital.

What are we doing?
 We've built a mobile app exclusively for college students. The vision behind the app is simple - to give college students a simple way to make new friends from other colleges AND to eventually allow these students to interact with each through common interest groups and forums. Initially, the app will allow students to make personal connections and friends from other colleges, discover new people, while respecting each others privacy.

 What are we looking for in a candidate?
Good social skills (a must), love for technology and design and a creative-problem solving instinct. The core team will consist of students from other premier South Mumbai colleges working together.

Starting Date: August / September

Your job (Marketing + Ideating): Successful technology companies (from Snapchat to Snapdeal) require entrepreneurial marketing and sales teams, as much as they need their engineers. This will be a hands-on experience in launching a social network. For those that are not skilled programmers, getting into the product design, user acquisition and marketing space is a great way to break into the fast growing mobile app business.

You will help us test the app amongst your friends and others in college (since that’s who the app is for), give us feedback on how we can improve it, be a part of our team meetings giving practical advice on user issues, design and features and then see the app iteration process first hand - finally helping us launch later this year. You are the critical link between us and our users.
